(CNN) \u2014<\/strong> \u201cSNL50\u201d was a historic broadcast<\/a> which brought together past \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d hosts as well as former and current cast members to celebrate the monumental anniversary of the long-running NBC comedy show.<\/p>\n

But not everyone fully enjoyed it.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs you know from \u2018SNL40\u2019\u2026 terrible audience,\u201d Pete Davidson<\/a>, who was a cast member on \u201cSNL\u201d from 2014 to 2022, told fellow former \u201cSNL\u201d-er Seth Meyers on \u201cLate Night with Seth Meyers\u201d<\/a> on Thursday, in reference to the star-studded event celebrating the show\u2019s 50th anniversary that aired in February.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a terrible audience \u2018cause it\u2019s just famous people, and famous people only like themselves,\u201d he added. Davidson was in attendance in the audience but also took part in some of the skits performed during the run of the show.<\/p>\n

In spite of him not feeling his fellow audience members too much, there was at least one star that Davidson said he did enjoy.<\/p>\n

He sat beside the legendary Meryl Streep in the audience and told Meyers, \u201cMeryl rules.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIn typical SNL fashion, they don\u2019t tell you anything. You don\u2019t even know what\u2019s going on,\u201d Davidson said. \u201cI get to my seat and I just look and I\u2019m like, \u2018This can\u2019t be right.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

And while the pair may have seemed like an odd couple, it sounds like it went well despite Davidson\u2019s amazement that she had been paired to sit with him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018I\u2019m so sorry that I\u2019m sitting next to you. You\u2019re the best,\u2019\u201d he said. \u201cAnd she\u2019s the best.\u201d<\/p>\n

Like Davidson, Streep also took part in the on-air performances during \u201cSNL50,\u201d making her debut<\/a> on the sketch show as the mother of a legacy character played by Kate McKinnon.<\/p>\n
