HUBER HEIGHTS \u2014 People are seeing black bears in several spots in the Miami Valley, with the latest sighting coming from Montgomery County. <\/p>\n
[DOWNLOAD: <\/b>Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks<\/b><\/a>]<\/b><\/p>\n Some people on the east side of Huber Heights spotted a black bear on Monday night and caught it on video. <\/p>\n The young black bear looks very much like a bear caught on video in the backyard of a Beavercreek <\/a>home and on another Greene County road<\/a> last week. <\/p>\n People in Clinton County reported seeing a young black bear first. <\/p>\n TRENDING STORIES:<\/b><\/p>\n Ed Lyons said he \u201csaw our friendly neighborhood bear\u201d Monday night in the area of Chambersburg Road and State Route 201. He used his cell phone to record the bear through a back sliding glass door. <\/p>\n His entire family was taken by surprise. <\/p>\n \u201cMy son wanted to get a picture. I\u2019m like, \u2018No!\u2019 I don\u2019t want him anywhere close to the deck. He\u2019s coming up close to decks, you know, pounded on the door and glass a little bit,\u201d Lyons said. <\/p>\n The bear eventually wandered off, and Lyons then found out a neighbor had spotted the bear moments earlier. That neighbor shared Ring camera video with News Center 7 showing the bear walking around their driveway before wandering off. <\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s starting to be a little famous bear,\u201d Lyons said. \u201cDoes he have a nickname yet?\u201d <\/p>\n As reported on News Center 7 at 5:00<\/b>, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) estimated the bear is two years old and not fully grown. <\/p>\n ODNR also said they cannot confirm if the Huber Heights bear is the same as the other sightings, though all the pictures and videos look alike. <\/p>\n \u201cWe see all kinds of nature\u2019s animals, so that\u2019s not surprising,\u201d Lyons said. \u201cA coyote, lots of deer, but this is the first time we\u2019ve seen a bear, so yeah, that was interesting.\u201d <\/p>\n ODNR experts tell people to stay far away from the bear and to remember that black bears are protected in Ohio. <\/p>\n
