{"id":13007,"date":"2025-06-25T08:16:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-25T08:16:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/13007\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T08:16:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T08:16:10","slug":"saw-our-friendly-neighborhood-bear-homeowners-react-as-black-bear-sightings-grow-in-miami-valley-whio-tv-7-and-whio-radio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/13007\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Saw our friendly neighborhood bear;\u2019 Homeowners react as black bear sightings grow in Miami Valley \u2013 WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 lofITx body-paragraph\">HUBER HEIGHTS \u2014 People are seeing black bears in several spots in the Miami Valley, with the latest sighting coming from Montgomery County. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 lofITx body-paragraph\"><b>[DOWNLOAD: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whio.com\/mobile-apps\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.whio.com\/mobile-apps\/\"><b>Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks<\/b><\/a><b>]<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 lofITx body-paragraph\">Some people on the east side of Huber Heights spotted a black bear on Monday night and caught it on video. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 lofITx body-paragraph\">The young black bear looks very much like a bear caught on video in the backyard of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whio.com\/news\/local\/black-bear-spotted-backyard-hopping-outdoor-table-beavercreek\/UBRKBGNATBD4ZLRO2NTV6XWWXM\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.whio.com\/news\/local\/black-bear-spotted-backyard-hopping-outdoor-table-beavercreek\/UBRKBGNATBD4ZLRO2NTV6XWWXM\/\">Beavercreek <\/a>home and on another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whio.com\/news\/local\/black-bear-spotted-greene-county\/ZAWLKRYHY5AY3JHQ3NCCQAGRLE\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.whio.com\/news\/local\/black-bear-spotted-greene-county\/ZAWLKRYHY5AY3JHQ3NCCQAGRLE\/\">Greene County road<\/a> last week. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 lofITx body-paragraph\">People in Clinton County reported seeing a young black bear first. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 lofITx body-paragraph\"><b>TRENDING STORIES:<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 lofITx body-paragraph\">Ed Lyons said he \u201csaw our friendly neighborhood bear\u201d Monday night in the area of Chambersburg Road and State Route 201. He used his cell phone to record the bear through a back sliding glass door. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 lofITx body-paragraph\">His entire family was taken by surprise. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 lofITx body-paragraph\">\u201cMy son wanted to get a picture. I\u2019m like, \u2018No!\u2019 I don\u2019t want him anywhere close to the deck. He\u2019s coming up close to decks, you know, pounded on the door and glass a little bit,\u201d Lyons said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 lofITx body-paragraph\">The bear eventually wandered off, and Lyons then found out a neighbor had spotted the bear moments earlier.
