Brian Wilson was laid to rest nearly two months after his death at 82.<\/p>\n
The late Beach Boys legend\u2019s daughter, Carnie, 57, took to Instagram<\/a> Wednesday, Aug. 6, to share the news.<\/p>\n \u201cToday we laid my Daddy to rest,\u201d Carnie began alongside a picture of a beautiful bouquet. \u201cIt was incredibly difficult to see that happen, but at the same time it gave more closure and more of a feeling of restful peace.\u201d<\/p>\n Brian Wilson and his daughter, Carnie Wilson, at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles, California, on March 30, 2015. Carnie Wilson\/Instagram<\/p>\n \u201cThe last eight weeks have been extremely challenging and like nothing I\u2019ve ever experienced,\u201d the Wilson Phillips singer added. \u201cI love and miss him so much and I wish he could come back.\u201d<\/p>\n Carnie added that her late father has been sending her \u201csigns\u201d ever since his passing in June,<\/a> including \u201ca couple of monarch butterflies that just would not leave the site.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s so many signs that he gives me every day and I know that he\u2019s around \u2026he can hear me and he can see me,\u201d Wilson\u2019s daughter wrote. \u201cHe makes that apparent. Getty Images<\/p>\n However, the \u201cHold On\u201d singer admitted that she is still struggling<\/a> to deal with her beloved father\u2019s death.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m trying to deal with my emotions \u2013 they\u2019re so up and down. I know that he would want everybody to feel happy and not sad. FilmMagic<\/p>\n \u201cI was talking with my dear friend Gunnar Nelson today who lost his Pop Ricky Nelson years ago and he reminded me that the world will have his music to sing to and remember him every single solitary day until we are all gone,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n Wilson\u2019s daughter concluded her emotional post by thanking her late father for his \u201cbeautiful contribution\u201d to the world, as well as the countless fans who have honored his memory.<\/p>\n \u201cSo I just wanna say thank you\u2026 thank you Daddy for your beautiful contribution to so much happiness and real raw emotions that you have brought to people,\u201d she wrote. <\/p>\n \u201cThank you to all the beautiful loving and supportive fans out there for honoring him. Getty Images for Disney<\/p>\n Two weeks later, Wilson\u2019s death certificate revealed that the Beach Boys icon passed away from \u201crespiratory arrest.\u201d<\/a> Sepsis and cystitis were also listed.<\/p>\n Wilson\u2019s former bandmates, Mike Love, 84, and Al Jardine, 82, paid tribute to the \u201cGod Only Knows\u201d songwriter in a moving statement.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cThe world mourns a genius today, and we grieve for the loss of our cousin, our friend, and our partner in a great musical adventure,\u201d they wrote. \u201cBrian Wilson wasn\u2019t just the heart of The Beach Boys\u2014he was the soul of our sound.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe are heartbroken by his passing. We will continue to cherish the timeless music we made together and the joy he brought to millions over the decades.
