Students at a Sydney<\/a> school have been evacuated from all buildings following a \u201cthreatening\u201d email.<\/p>\n

Bonnyrigg High School, in Sydney\u2019s west, was evacuated about 11.15am on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cPolice were called to Bonnyrigg High School after the school received a threatening email this morning,\u201d a NSW Department of Education spokesperson told 7NEWS.com.au.<\/p>\n

In a social media post, the school urged parents not to contact their children.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease be advised the school is currently being evacuated,\u201d the message read.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease do not contact the school or your child.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will advise shortly.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chopper footage showed students gathering on the school oval while a fire truck and police vehicles remained parked outside the campus.<\/p>\n

Fire and Rescue NSW confirmed to 7NEWS.com.au they were called in along with police.<\/p>\n

\u201cFRNSW has been asked to assist with possible dogs on the loose in the area at a sports carnival,\u201d a spokeperson said.<\/p>\n

They added no dogs have been found and no injuries were reported.<\/p>\n

It is not clear if the dogs were in any way related to the evacuation.<\/p>\n

Principle Reece Hooke said the school resumed normal operations at about 12.50pm, following the all-clear.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt approximately 11.15 this morning, the school received information that required the activation of our evacuation plan and the calling of police,\u201d he said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll students and staff moved in an orderly way to the designated evacuation areas.<\/p>\n

Hooke said classes resumed once \u201cpolice determined it was appropriate\u201d to do so.<\/p>\n

The education department spokesperson added: \u201cStudents and teachers at the school are safe and all supports are in place.\u201d<\/p>\n
