Marek Houston, the Minnesota Twins\u2019 first-round selection in the 2025 MLB Draft, got his first taste of Target Field on Monday before the Twins took on the Kansas City Royals. Houston threw out the ceremonial first pitch and got to chat with center fielder Byron Buxton, also a former first-round pick.<\/p>\n

Houston, a 21-year-old shortstop from Wake Forest, was the 16th overall pick in the draft and liked what he saw of the Twins\u2019 ballpark.<\/p>\n

\u201cHopefully I\u2019m playing here on day,\u201d Houston told the Twin Cities media, \u201cThis is what you dream of.\u201d<\/p>\n

Houston has begun his professional career at Single-A Fort Myers, where he\u2019s batting .370 with 10 hits in his first 27 at-bats. <\/p>\n
