These legal fees wouldn\u2019t pay for their Italian wedding\u2019s<\/a> sparkling water bill!\u00a0<\/p>\n

Newlyweds Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez <\/a>are demanding nearly $190,000 in legal fees stemming from their ongoing court battle <\/a>with Lauren\u2019s estranged brother, Michael Sanchez.<\/p>\n

Page Six has learned that the billionaire couple and their legal team filed a motion on July 28 in California Superior Court demanding Michael cough up $182,374 in attorney\u2019s fees and $8,182 in legal costs, \u201cincurred in connection with (1) her successful Special Motion to Strike, and (2) this Motion for Attorney\u2019s Fees and Costs.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple have been engaged in a never-ending legal battle with Michael<\/a>, which Lauren\u2019s lawyers have characterized as a \u201cmulti-year campaign of harassment in the hope he could extract a wholly undeserved financial settlement.\u201d<\/p>\n

The cases stem from a defamation suit that Michael Sanchez filed after he was accused of leaking images and texts to the National Enquirer.<\/p>\n

The motion says Bezos and Sanchez deserve the fees stemming from their Anti-SLAPP (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation) cases in response to Michael filing what their side called \u201cfrivolous\u201d claims \u201cwhich he knew or should have known were dead on arrival.\u201d <\/p>\n

The couple is seeking attorney fees and say their lawyers\u2019 hourly rates range from $549 to $1,125.<\/p>\n

(According to the San Francisco Bar, if you\u2019re unfamiliar, \u201cCalifornia\u2019s Anti-SLAPP statute\u00a0presents a mechanism to defendants to strike potentially meritless causes of action early in litigation while obtaining a mandatory fee award.) <\/p>\n

The bitter family feud began shortly after Bezos announced his split from his wife of 25 years, MacKenzie Scott. <\/p>\n

Page Six exclusively reported<\/a> at the time that Bezos was already seeing Sanchez \u2014 who was still legally married, but separated, from Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell.<\/p>\n

Things exploded when the National Enquirer allegedly threatened to publish X-rated photos, leading Bezos to ultimately beat the publication to the punch and publish descriptions<\/a> of the images himself.<\/p>\n

The couple has been in a years-long suit with her brother Michael. Lauren Sanchez\/Instagram<\/p>\n

Michael denied leaking any \u201cbelow-the-belt selfies.\u201d (He did not deny leaking other information.)<\/p>\n

But the New York Times<\/a> reported that: \u201cMr. Sanchez and American Media executed a nondisclosure agreement,\u201d on Oct. 18, 2018, \u201cconcerning certain information, photographs and text messages documenting an affair between Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez,\u201d according to a contract between the two parties seen by the outlet. <\/p>\n

In February 2020, Michael sued Bezos<\/a> for defamation. In November 2020<\/a>, Los Angeles County Superior Court ruled in favor of Bezos \u2014 though ongoing filings have continued in the legal skirmish.<\/p>\n

In 2021, Bezos was awarded $218,385 in legal fees, but there\u2019s been additional legal back and forth.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Bezos and Sanchez just got married in a $50 million three-day<\/a> wedding in Venice, Italy, attended by Oprah Winfrey, Orlando Bloom, Usher, Sydney Sweeney and Ivanka Trump.<\/p>\n

The couple have since been partying all over Europe, most recently being spotted <\/a>at a nightclub in Ibiza.<\/p>\n

They were also just spotted on a double date with Leonardo DiCaprio and his girlfriend, Vittoria Ceretti, with the foursome enjoying a day at sea off the coast of Ibiza on Bezos\u2019\u00a0$500 million superyacht<\/a>, Koru.<\/p>\n
