Photo: Canberra Services Club\/Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>No injuries have been reported after the Canberra Services Club was evacuated earlier this morning due to a kitchen fire.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency services were first called to the Barton venue on Blackall Street just after 11:30 am.<\/p>\n<p>Intense smoke from the flames caused the street to be closed, and the blaze was extinguished at around 1 pm.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The club took to Facebook to let the community know that everyone was safe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe club will be closed until further notice while we assess the damage and ensure everything is safe before reopening,\u201d it stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThank you for your understanding, and a HUGE thank you to the emergency services for their incredible work today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An ESA spokesperson said the cause of the blaze was under investigation.<\/p>\n<p>The street remains closed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Canberra Services Club is shut until further notice following a fire.
