SAN ANTONIO <\/strong> \u2013 A new mural celebrating a potential future Spur has been unveiled on the South Side, even though the player hasn\u2019t officially joined the team yet.<\/p>\n

Local artist Nick Soupe recently completed the mural at Rudy\u2019s Seafood, a restaurant known for celebrating San Antonio Spurs legends through art. <\/p>\n

However, this time, the subject isn\u2019t a current or former Spurs player; it\u2019s a top 2025 NBA Draft prospect, Dylan Harper.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe draft is what, tomorrow?\u201d Soupe said, laughing nervously as he finished the piece. \u201cI\u2019m not going to lie, I\u2019m a bit nervous about this one.\u201d<\/p>\n

While the pick isn\u2019t guaranteed, Soupe said he\u2019s \u201ccautiously optimistic\u201d that Harper will land in San Antonio. <\/p>\n

He\u2019s not the only one with faith. Rudy\u2019s Seafood Owner Roland Ramirez says the mural is a risk worth taking. <\/p>\n

\u201cAny feedback from the community about \u2018It\u2019s too early\u2019 or \u2018what if they don\u2019t get him?\u201d asked KSAT\u2019s John Paul Barajas. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been hearing a lot of that, but I think we\u2019re actually going to get him,\u201d said Ramirez, in part. \u201cWe\u2019ll keep him up still. You can\u2019t take down a gorgeous picture like that one.\u201d<\/p>\n

The mural was painted over the course of eight hours in the South Texas heat, part of what Soupe and Ramirez said is a growing excitement for Spurs basketball, even in the off-season.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019ll see that once the season starts; they go crazy,\u201d Ramirez said. <\/p>\n

For Soupe, the mural isn\u2019t just about a draft pick \u2014 it\u2019s about what the Spurs represent.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re more than a team. They\u2019re a family,\u201d Soupe said, in part. \u201cI\u2019m getting goosebumps thinking about that.\u201d <\/p>\n

Whether the gamble pays off or not, the community\u2019s passion for the team is clear, and now, it\u2019s painted on full display.<\/p>\n
