You\u2019re not totally buggin \u2014 a series based on the \u201990s classic film \u201cClueless\u201d is in the works, and Alicia Silverstone is sharing her role in it.<\/p>\n

Thirty years ago, people remember \u201crollin\u2019 with the homies\u201d in Beverly Hills thanks to the iconic Cher Horowitz and her well-to-do entourage. Now, during a Thursday appearance on \u201cToday,\u201d<\/a> Silverstone spoke about the voyage back to the West Coast. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m really excited about it,\u201d she said. \u201cWe\u2019re going to try really hard\u2026 the goal is to make it honor what everyone loves about \u2018Clueless,\u2019 [and] Cher. We want to honor that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Silverstone shared that the project is currently in \u201cbaby stages\u201d but promises the production will bring something \u201cfresh and new\u201d to the characters many have held close to their hearts since 1995. She also revealed that she is the project\u2019s executive producer.<\/p>\n

In a separate interview on \u201cTODAY with Jenna & Friends,\u201d<\/a> she reflected on the film\u2019s long-lasting legacy and its unexpected journey into a \u201ccultural phenomenon.\u201d <\/p>\n

She credited the movie\u2019s enduring appeal to director Amy Heckerling and her knack for \u201ccapturing exactly what was happening at that moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor also attributed the movie\u2019s success to the costumes that turned hallways into runways. <\/p>\n

\u201cI was just excited to be there doing this great part that I got,\u201d she said, when asked if she ever predicted the film\u2019s massive impact. <\/p>\n

Five years ago, Silverstone sat down with Vogue<\/a> to discuss the movie\u2019s impact and how audiences aligned with her character. <\/p>\n

\u201cI think people identify with Cher\u2019s heart and her willingness to change and grow because of how silly she was,\u201d she said. \u201cShe was trying hard to evolve because of her sweet Josh. I don\u2019t know how to explain why or what made \u2032Clueless\u2019 what it was, but I know it happened, and I know that people continue to love it.
