JACKSONVILLE \u2013<\/strong> This was a brief look, and the look was fine.<\/p>\n

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence<\/a> and the first-team offense played one series. So did the first-team defense. That was pretty much it for the Jaguars’ starters Saturday night in what became a loss in the 2025 preseason opener.<\/a><\/p>\n

Lawrence completed six of seven passes for 43 yards in his first game in Head Coach Liam Coen\u2019s<\/a> offense, and Lawrence’s series was among the key storylines as the Jaguars lost to the Steelers, 31-25, in front of 58,316 at EverBank Stadium.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Saturday also featured one of the most memorable moments in Jaguars preseason history, with second-year kicker Cam Little<\/a> converting a 70-yard field goal on the last play of the first half.<\/a><\/p>\n

The kick would have broken the NFL record for longest field goal of 66 yards by former Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker had it been in the regular season.<\/p>\n

Lawrence during his brief playing time was accurate and poised, driving the Jaguars 44 yards on 12 plays on an opening possession that ended with a 41-yard field goal by Little. The Jaguars’ first-team offense left the game after that.<\/p>\n
