Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham says she was fined by the WNBA a second time for making negative comments about the league\u2019s referees.<\/p>\n
Cunningham, speaking earlier this week on her podcast, \u201cShow Me Something,\u201d said she was fined $1,500 for comments she\u2019d made the previous week.<\/p>\n
On the debut episode of her podcast July 28, Cunningham said the refs are \u201cjust so inconsistent.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I was a ref, I know I would mess up all the time. Like, I\u2019m not saying that your job is easy, but when it is a simple call in front of your face multiple times, what are you doing? What are you doing?\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Cunningham said she found out about the second fine when Fever general manager Amber Cox pulled her aside and told her the league contacted her.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think players across the league, and new fans across the country, are like, \u2018What is going on with the refs?\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018I don\u2019t know,\u2019\u201d she said on the July 28 episode before an expletive dismissal of the impact of \u201d$500″ fines.<\/p>\n
Cunningham was fined that amount<\/a> for a TikTok<\/a> posted July 18 where she lip synced to the lyrics, \u201cStupid. Or is it, slow? Or maybe, useless?\u201d from Sabrina Carpenter\u2019s song \u201cManchild\u201d with the words \u201c@ some refs\u201d written on the video.<\/p>\n ___<\/p>\n
