Katie Hobbs \u2014 has received another funding boost to support first-time homebuyers.<\/p>\n<p>After getting $13 million in startup funding via a partnership with the Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH), the program is adding $5 million to its working budget from the federal American Rescue Plan Act.<\/p>\n<p>In its first 18 months, the mortgage assistance initiative has helped <a href=\"https:\/\/ktar.com\/arizona-news\/gov-katie-hobbs-says-arizona-mortgage-assistance-program-helps-100-families-purchase-new-home\/5583963\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">more than 500 Arizonans<\/a> close the deal on their first house.<\/p>\n<p>Arizona Is Home aims to double its positive impact to around 1,000 first-time homebuyers with the new investment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy putting homeownership within reach, we\u2019re helping working families unlock the Arizona promise and build their future right here in Arizona,\u201d Hobbs said in a Tuesday <a href=\"https:\/\/azgovernor.gov\/office-arizona-governor\/news\/2025\/08\/governor-katie-hobbs-expands-homeownership-opportunities\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announcement<\/a>. \u201cThrough Arizona Is Home, we\u2019ve turned the dream of owning a home into a reality for hundreds of Arizonans, and now even more Arizonans will have that same opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Funding possible for Arizona first-time homebuyers<\/p>\n<p>Maricopa County residents earning up to 120% <a href=\"https:\/\/sf.freddiemac.com\/working-with-us\/affordable-lending\/area-median-income-and-property-eligibility-tool\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Area Median Income<\/a> (AMI) can qualify for assistance of between 3% and 7% of their desired home\u2019s purchase price.<\/p>\n<p>Pima County residents in the same AMI range are eligible for\u00a0up to $9,000 to put toward a down payment and\/or closing costs on a home.<\/p>\n<p>More detailed information regarding Arizona Is Home and buyer eligibility can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/housing.az.gov\/general-public\/arizona-home-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"twitter-follow-button\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/pwmoses11\" data-show-count=\"false\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Follow @pwmoses11<\/a><\/p>\n<p>We want to hear from you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-top: 0px;\">Have a story idea or tip?
