Our Miami Dolphins will begin their preseason this afternoon when they take on the Chicago Bears in Chicago. Miami traveled to Chicago early so the two teams could have a joint practice on Friday. Following this afternoon\u2019s game, Miami will travel to Detroit, Michigan, to take on the Detroit Lions. The Dolphins then finish up their preseason schedule a week later with a home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.<\/p>\n
I do not expect to see the majority of the Dolphins\u2019 veterans, at least the ones that you would assume are locks for the final roster, in this evening\u2019s game. The first preseason game is generally used by the coaching staff to view and evaluate rookies and those just hoping to earn a spot on the final 53-man roster in a real game setting. Some teams do run their starters out for one or two series just so they can knock the rust off heading into the rest of camp. The Dolphins coaching staff has not indicated if any starters will play in this afternoon\u2019s game.<\/p>\n
