Dermot Mulroney had a blast playing his m\u00e9nage \u00e0 trois-loving \u201cHunting Wives\u201d character<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mulroney, who plays a lecherous oil tycoon eyeing a Texas gubernatorial seat on the hit Netflix show, laughed off Page Six\u2019s query about threesome-based research.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, you\u2019re naughty!\u201d the 61-year-old replied. \u201cThat\u2019s the right kind of question.\u201d <\/p>\n

Dermot Mulroney laughed when asked about doing bedroom research for \u201cThe Hunting Wives.\u201d Netflix<\/p>\n

The actor, who plays a lecherous oil man getting ready to run for public office, praised the \u201cnaughty\u201d question. Netflix<\/p>\n

The Netflix series also stars Malin Akerman and Brittany Snow, among others. Netflix<\/p>\n

Mulroney clarified that he did not do that, ahem, kind of research beforehand, adding that he is thrilled by the response to the show, which has been number one on the streaming platform for three weeks.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s brought so much joy to people already,\u201d he gushed. \u201cSo fun to be a part of.\u201d<\/p>\n

The series, based on a May Cobb novel<\/a> of the same name, also stars Malin Akerman, Brittany Snow, Katie Lowes and Evan Jonigkeit.<\/p>\n

It is set among an affluent, gun-toting circle with murder, swimsuits and lots of hookups sprinkled throughout.<\/p>\n

Mulroney agreed that the project is \u201ccampy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think maybe we haven\u2019t had, like, campy sizzle for a little while,\u201d he noted. \u201cThe show just really caught people right in the funny bone, and you know, whatever other bones you want to mention.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mulroney\u2019s character Jed Banks\u2019 political affiliation is never confirmed, something that he found \u201cappealing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s intentionally nuanced even though the show is really, in some ways, over the top,\u201d the \u201cYoung Guns\u201d star explained. \u201cIt\u2019s just a great way to get across any kind of social commentary.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hopefully, we\u2019ll see even more of Mulroney in the future, with the recent news that a sequel to his 1997 rom-com \u201cMy Best Friend\u2019s Wedding\u201d is in the works.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy hope is as strong as everyone else\u2019s,\u201d Mulroney shared. \u201cBut I don\u2019t want to jinx anything. I\u2019d love nothing more.\u201d<\/p>\n

The accomplished cellist is also hoping he gets to do some more performing \u2014 on a classical music stage with Yo Yo Ma<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mulroney said he\u2019d \u201clove nothing more\u201d than to take part in a sequel.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve looked up his schedule and held it up against mine,\u201d he confessed. \u201cIt\u2019s a pretty difficult Venn diagram to look at.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite their busy calendars, Mulroney remains hopeful.<\/p>\n
