{"id":135143,"date":"2025-08-10T19:57:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-10T19:57:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/135143\/"},"modified":"2025-08-10T19:57:09","modified_gmt":"2025-08-10T19:57:09","slug":"exclusive-nyc-subway-shove-victim-is-er-doc-who-was-on-his-way-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/135143\/","title":{"rendered":"Exclusive | NYC subway shove victim is ER doc who was on his way home &#8211;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The straphanger randomly shoved onto tracks by a muttering maniac Saturday is an ER pediatrician who was on his way home from work at the time \u2014 and is now just \u201chappy he\u2019s still alive,\u201d his pal told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>The 44-year-old victim was heading back to his Upper West Side pad after a shift at Harlem Hospital and waiting for a No. 1 train at the 50th Street and Seventh Avenue station in Manhattan around 7:50 p.m. when the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/08\/09\/us-news\/man-pushed-onto-train-tracks-at-midtown-subway-station-nypd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nut came up behind him<\/a>, according to cops and the friend, Takayuki Matsumoto.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[The unhinged attacker] was screaming and walking toward him, and the next thing, [the victim] was pushed,\u201d said Matsumoto, speaking to The Post at the home of the injured rider, who was inside sleeping while recovering, on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>A lucky-to-be-alive ER pediatrician is still able to share a light moment with first responders after he was randomly shoved onto Manhattan subway tracks. William Miller<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not like he was walking on the edge of the platform or anything,\u201d the man said of his doctor friend. \u201cHe was walking in the middle of it, and suddenly, this guy approached him and pushed him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHis staff at the hospital said, \u2018Don\u2019t take the train anymore,\u2019 \u201d Matsumoto added of his pal. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s lucky he\u2019s OK. He\u2019s happy that he\u2019s still alive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Matsumoto, 62, said the victim was aware at the time that there was a train coming into the station in under 4 minutes, so he scrambled back onto the platform quickly with help from \u201ca nice couple and a lady.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The doctor, whose name is being withheld by The Post, suffered bruises to his face and leg.<\/p>\n<p>Cops are currently searching for the suspect, who was described as around 6 feet tall and wearing a white shirt, black shorts and a black backpack.<\/p>\n<p>Good Samaritans and cops help the 44-year-old doctor. William Miller<\/p>\n<p>The victim\u2019s friend and cops said he suffered facial and leg injuries in the unprovoked attack but that he\u2019ll be OK.
