Combined with <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/08\/box-office-weapons-freakier-friday-1236482095\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">domestic<\/a>, that takes the global debut to <strong>$70M<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tMeanwhile, Disney\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/freakier-friday\/\" id=\"auto-tag_freakier-friday\" data-tag=\"freakier-friday\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Freakier Friday<\/a>, with a <strong>$15.5M<\/strong> overseas launch in 46 material markets, had a global bow of <strong>$44.5M<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAnd, there\u2019s a new milestone afoot for Universal\/Amblin\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/jurassic-world-rebirth\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jurassic-world-rebirth\" data-tag=\"jurassic-world-rebirth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jurassic World Rebirth<\/a>. Read on\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tWeapons\u2019 international opening, in like-for-like markets and at today\u2019s exchange rates, is tracking above Speak No Evil (+164%), Smile (+77%), The Black Phone (+59%), Evil Dead Rise (+34%) and M3GAN (+29%).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tNotably, in Europe, Weapons was tops for the region including UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Holland and Poland. In like-for-likes, the debut was ahead of Sinners (+33%), Smile (+46%) and Speak No Evil (+110%).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn Latin America, the film ranked No. 1 regionally, though came in below Freakier Friday in Mexico and some other markets. Still, it was above The Black Phone (+17%), Evil Dead Rise (+22%) and M3GAN (+32%) on a reigional basis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn Asia, Weapons topped studio play, far ahead of the above comps and with Indonesia particularly notable at No. 1 amid local horror titles which, as we know, increasingly dominate.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Top 5 overseas starts for the Julia Garner-starrer are: <strong>UK<\/strong> ($3.6M), <strong>Mexico<\/strong> ($2.7M), <strong>France<\/strong> ($2M), <strong>Australia<\/strong> ($1.8M) and <strong>Spain<\/strong> ($1.6M).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Imax portion worldwide was $8.1M, including $1.9M from overseas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tTurning to the other new opener, Disney\u2019s Lindsay Lohan\/Jamie Lee Curtis reteam, Freakier Friday, the body-swap comedy saw overperformance in Latin America, landing a surprise No. 1 in Mexico ($2.8M) and other regional markets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tOverall, the female and family-skewing pic opened bigger than 2003\u2019s Freaky Friday and 2024\u2019s Mean Girls\u00a0in like-for-like markets at current rates. The film is yet to open in Korea, Japan and some smaller Asian territories..<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tTalent traveled to Mexico City and did a junket for Latin America which clearly helped \u2014 other Lat Am markets that debuted to No. 1 include Argentina,\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAcross Europe, Freakier Friday opened at No. 2 in the UK, among others, and No. 3 in Italy. In Australia, the comedy scored a No. 2 debut.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Top 5 overseas markets at open are: <strong>Mexico<\/strong> ($2.8M), <strong>UK<\/strong> ($2.4M), <strong>Australia<\/strong> ($1.4M), <strong>Argentina<\/strong> ($800K) and <strong>Colombia<\/strong> ($800K).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn holdovers, and after three weekends, Marvel\/Disney\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/the-fantastic-four-first-steps\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-fantastic-four-first-steps\" data-tag=\"the-fantastic-four-first-steps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Fantastic Four: First Steps<\/a> has reached <strong>$434.2M<\/strong> worldwide, including <strong>$203.8M<\/strong> from the international box office (all markets are open).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThis frame added <strong>$17.5M<\/strong> overseas, a 56% dip. In Brazil and Chile, the fantastic family held No. 1 and is the highest grossing superhero release of 2025 across the Latin American region.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHere are the Top 5 so far: <strong>UK<\/strong> ($25.5M), <strong>Mexico<\/strong> ($24.2M), <strong>France<\/strong> ($12.5M), <strong>Brazil<\/strong> ($11.6M) and <strong>Australia<\/strong> ($9.7M).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAs noted above, Universal\/Amblin\u2019s Jurassic World Rebirth is on the cusp of crossing $800M global, repping only the third studio movie to the milestone this year. The estimated offshore cume is <strong>$473.2M<\/strong> through Sunday with worldwide at <strong>$799.9M<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAmid a 50% overseas drop during this 6th session, Mosasaurus &amp; Co added another <strong>$16.1M<\/strong> in 83 markets. <strong>Japan<\/strong>, the final market to release, opened at  $7.5M, the biggest 3-day launch for a studio title since The Super Mario Bros. Movie\u00a0in 2023. It\u2019s in line with 2015\u2019s\u00a0Jurassic World, well above the 3-day openings of\u00a0Mission: Impossible \u2013 The Final Reckoning\u00a0and\u00a0A Minecraft Movie, more than 3x\u00a0The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and more than double\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/superman\/\" id=\"auto-tag_superman\" data-tag=\"superman\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Superman<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0F1.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe weekend gross there, despite competition from local title Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle, will surpass the total lifetime of\u00a0Gladiator II\u00a0and\u00a0Captain America: Brave New World\u00a0in the coming days.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe Top 5 JWR markets to date are: <strong>China<\/strong> ($78.1M), <strong>UK<\/strong> ($45.3M), <strong>Mexico<\/strong> ($35.3M), <strong>Germany<\/strong> ($30.5M) and <strong>France<\/strong> ($26.6M).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAnd, after becoming <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2025\/08\/f1-brad-pitt-biggest-movie-global-box-office-fantastic-four-1236477267\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brad Pitt\u2019s highest-grossing movie ever worldwide<\/a>, Apple Original Films\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/f1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">F1<\/a>, via Warner Bros, is still seeing incredible holds.
