(File photo courtesy of OnScene.TV)<\/p>\n<p>A 69-year-old man crossing a Midway-area street was struck by a Jeep Sunday and hospitalized with broken bones, authorities said.<\/p>\n<p>The collision occurred in heavy traffic shortly after noon Sunday in the 3800 block of Camino del Rio West, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sandiego.gov\/police\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">San Diego Police Department<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The unidentified pedestrian was struck by a Jeep Wrangler driven by a 34-year-old man, police said.<\/p>\n<p>The victim was taken by ambulance to a hospital with a fractured pelvis and an open fracture to the right leg, injuries that police described as \u201cserious.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The department\u2019s Traffic Division was investigating the accident and asked anyone with relevant information to contact police or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sdcrimestoppers.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">San Diego Crime Stoppers<\/a> at (888) 580-8477.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A Falck ambulance at a crime scene.
