Bears<\/a> coach Ben Johnson<\/a> said it was indicative of the fact that he\u2019s fighting with veteran cornerback Nahshon Wright for a starting job \u2014 and not because he fought in practice Friday against the Dolphins.<\/p>\n The Bears wanted him to play 10-12 snaps. He played the first drive, which lasted 15 plays. Stevenson sat down after the first possession<\/p>\n \u201cHis plan was to play, he and [Wright] both,\u201d Stevenson said.<\/p>\n Offensive starters who didn\u2019t play were quarterback Caleb Williams; running back D\u2019Andre Swift; tight end Cole Kmet; receivers DJ Moore, Rome Odunze and Olamide Zaccheaus; and offensive linemen Joe Thuney, Drew Dalman, Jonah Jackson and Darnell Wright.<\/p>\n Defensive players sitting out were linemen Montez Sweat, Grady Jarrett, Gervon Dexter, Andre Billing and Dayo Odeyingbo; linebackers Tremaine Edmunds and T.J. Edwards; safeties Jaquan Brisker and Kevin Byard; and cornerback Kyler Gordon.
