In the modern NBA, it is not uncommon for players, even superstars, to hop from team to team. Whether it is asking for trades, bolting during free agency, or ownership deciding to go a different direction, it is rare to see a guy stick around on the same team his entire career. But Devin Booker<\/a><\/strong> ain\u2019t most players.<\/p>\n

Similar to his idol, Kobe Bryant, Book has said his goal is to remain with the same team he retires. He\u2019s old school like that, and future Hall of Famer, Damian Lillard, respects it.<\/p>\n

Lillard was in Phoenix for his Formula Zero camp (of which one of the attendees was former Kentucky commit Acaden Lewis<\/a><\/strong>) and spoke about<\/a> the local NBA superstar.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I think of loyalty, I think of being true to who you are. It\u2019s who you are, what you represent, and how you see things. I think [Booker] represents that.\u201d Lillard continued, \u201cI think he\u2019s standing on his square about what he wants to accomplish. It\u2019s not about what everybody else is doing, what he thinks is the right thing to the world, or what they\u2019re saying on TV. He\u2019s standing on what he wants to do and who he is. I think that\u2019s the most important thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Booker signed a record-breaking two-year contract extension<\/a> in July worth $72.5 million per year to remain with the Suns, a record that fellow Kentucky alum Shai Gilgeous-Alexander<\/a><\/strong> broke a handful of days later. He has been with Phoenix since the organization drafted him in 2015. He has seen the doldrums of the standings, reached the NBA Finals, and everything in between. <\/p>\n

Lillard is back with the Portland Trail Blazers to recover from a torn Achilles, the team where he spent the majority of his career.
