The Philadelphia Eagles drew a sellout crowd to Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday night for practice. But the fans\u2019 enthusiasm for the NFL\u2019s 2024 championship franchise and its fundraiser for the Eagles Autism Foundation was turned to concern by an injury to one of Philadelphia\u2019s star players.<\/p>\n
Left guard Landon Dickerson<\/a> went down during 11-on-11 play with a right-leg injury. The former Alabama All-American walked off the field with assistance before being carted to the locker room, with Dickerson riding in the passenger seat instead of stretched out on the back. <\/p>\n Dickerson earned unanimous All-American recognition and won the Rimington Trophy as the nation\u2019s best center for Alabama<\/a>\u2019s 2020 unbeaten CFP national-championship team.<\/p>\n But since joining Philadelphia in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Dickerson has served as the Eagles\u2019 left guard and has earned Pro Bowl recognition in each of the past three seasons. <\/p>\n Because center Cam Jurgens had a back injury, Dickerson went back to center for the NFC Championship Game on Jan. 26. Philadelphia defeated the Washington Commanders 55-23<\/a>, but Dickerson didn\u2019t play in the second half after sustaining a knee injury that forced him from the game.<\/p>\n But two weeks after the NFC Championship Game, Dickerson returned to the field as the Eagles downed the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 <\/a>in Super Bowl LIX<\/a>. Back at left guard, Dickerson and left tackle Jordan Mailata were the only players to take every snap with the Philadelphia offense.<\/p>\n The Eagles started their three-game preseason schedule with a 34-27 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals<\/a> on Thursday night. Dickerson did not play in the game.
