(Photo by Chris Stone\/Times of San Diego)<\/p>\n<p>There is a temperature rollercoaster forecast this week in San Diego County, with scorching heat in parts of the region giving way to relief by the weekend. <\/p>\n<p>Hot conditions will persist through Wednesday across the county, with mountain areas under a heat advisory until Monday evening, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/sgx\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">National Weather Service<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The county\u2019s desert regions face even more intense conditions under an extreme heat warning through Tuesday evening, as high pressure systems settle over the region. <\/p>\n<p>High temperatures Monday are expected to reach 71 to 76 near the coast, 78 to 82 inland, 81 to 85 in the western valleys, 89 to 94 near the foothills, 88 to 98 in the mountains and 111 to 115 in the deserts, the NWS said. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Daytime high temperatures inland remain above normal through early next week, with moderate heat risk at low elevations in and west of the mtns and major heat risk in the low deserts. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/CAwx?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#CAwx<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/C2sZxGplBQ\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/C2sZxGplBQ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 NWS San Diego (@NWSSanDiego) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NWSSanDiego\/status\/1954307737887911996?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">August 9, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Wednesday marks the turning point as the weather pattern begins to shift. A gradual cooling trend will take hold, dropping temperatures 3-5 degrees each day through Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The marine layer will strengthen and push further inland each morning bringing cooling to more areas, according to the weather agency.<\/p>\n<p>Temperatures are expected to drop 5-10 degrees below normal by the weekend.
