{"id":135942,"date":"2025-08-11T03:24:42","date_gmt":"2025-08-11T03:24:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/135942\/"},"modified":"2025-08-11T03:24:42","modified_gmt":"2025-08-11T03:24:42","slug":"pedestrian-killed-after-being-hit-by-vehicle-on-west-side-sapd-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/135942\/","title":{"rendered":"Pedestrian killed after being hit by vehicle on West Side, SAPD says"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>SAN ANTONIO<\/strong> \u2013 A woman was killed Sunday night after being hit by a vehicle while reportedly panhandling, San Antonio police said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The crash happened just before 9 p.m. at the intersection of South General McMullen and Castroville Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The driver, a man in his mid-70s, reportedly had a hard time seeing while driving at night, according to an SAPD sergeant on the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Police said the man drove his sedan up on the median at the intersection of South General McMullen and Castroville Road, where the victim, a female in her mid-40s, was standing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The woman was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, the sergeant said, but later died.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Police said there are no signs of intoxication in the driver, but they are investigating.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">This is a developing story.
