A woman from Spring Valley is facing animal cruelty charges after a video was sent to authorities appearing to show her strike a Chihuahua with a wooden plank and then cover the dog with a container and kicking them, according to a press release from the County of San Diego Communications Office. <\/p>\n
The video was taken by a concerned citizen on July 21, and the suspect was located on Aug. 10 by the County Animal Services law enforcement officers. <\/p>\n
The small dog was forcibly impounded and is receiving a cruelty exam from Animal Services veterinary staff.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The communications office said that “while the dog appears frightened, medical personnel report that it is doing well and is recovering.”<\/p>\n
All the evidence is being turned over to the District Attorney\u2019s Office for review, and the County Animal Services is recommending that suspect be charged with animal cruelty. <\/p>\n
