And that\u2019s about all there was to be bummed about after he generated three quarterback pressures on his three pass rushes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had fun,\u201d Carter said after the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/08\/09\/sports\/jaxson-dart-throws-absolute-dime-for-first-giants-touchdown-pass\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Giants beat the Bills 34-25 in the preseason opener<\/a>. \u201cI wish I got to play a little more, but I\u2019m glad we got the win.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carter won two matchups on an island against four-time Pro Bowl left tackle Dion Dawkins.<\/p>\n<p>Once, Carter beat Dawkins to the inside and forced quarterback Mitch Trubisky to spin into the arms of Roy Robertson-Harris. Another time, Carter cupped Dawkins\u2019 helmet and then dropped low and bent the edge to force Trubisky up in the pocket.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI treat every opponent the same,\u201d Carter said. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter who I\u2019m going against. Charles Wenzelberg \/ New York Post<\/p>\n<p>And, in what might be the scariest rep for opposing offenses to watch, Carter lined up at three-technique defensive tackle and beat right guard O\u2019Cyrus Torrence to the inside with his first step and club move. Torrence could\u2019ve been called for holding as Trubisky threw the ball quickly.<\/p>\n<p>In joint practices Tuesday and Wednesday against the Jets, Carter will resume a Penn State practice rivalry against left tackle Olu Fashanu (2024 first-round pick).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope next week will come a little bit quicker,\u201d head coach Brian Daboll said, \u201cso we can get back out there, going live [tackling] and sacking the quarterback.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Giants linebacker Abdul Carter (51) runs drills during Back Together Weekend at the team\u2019s NFL football training camp, Sunday, July 27, 2025, in East Rutherford, N.J. AP<\/p>\n<p>Add CB Dru Phillips (undisclosed) to the injury list along with 15 teammates who did not play against the Bills.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDru couldn\u2019t finish,\u201d Daboll said, though he declined to elaborate on the severity.<\/p>\n<p>Daboll, a Buffalo area native and former Bills offensive coordinator, loved that Highmark Stadium was nearly full for the final preseason game in its history before the Bills move across the parking lot in 2026. Daboll and Jets head coach Aaron Glenn \u2014 who have known each other for about a decade \u2014 had communicated a handful of times by lunchtime Sunday to finalize details.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll be on the Giants offensive field and he\u2019ll be on the Jets offensive field,\u201d Daboll said. \u201cWhat we talked about is, \u2018You\u2019re the head coach of that field,\u2019 if you will.
