Students in 10 of our Northeast Florida counties head back to school on Monday. Bradford County students will go back to class on Tuesday. All of our Southeast Georgia counties started school last week.<\/p>\n
We know the first day of school always seems to come with a lot of questions about transportation.<\/p>\n
If you have any questions or issues with your child\u2019s bus, we have the numbers for each district\u2019s transportation department and bus hotline listed below, along with info for districts that have school bus tracker apps.<\/p>\n
Duval<\/b><\/p>\n
Each year, 860 buses transport approximately 48,000 students on more than 3,600 daily trips to Duval County Public Schools.<\/p>\n
The bus companies that contract with DCPS are Durham School Services<\/b> and Student Transportation of America (STA)<\/b>.<\/p>\n
Families can contact the bus companies for general questions such as the location of a bus or estimated time of arrival at a bus stop. You can find the contact info for each bus company, organized by which area of town the bus route serves, at www.duvalschools.org\/page\/busvendor<\/a>.<\/p>\n The DCPS Transportation Department is open from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. After-hours emergency calls are available from 6 a.m.-7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m.<\/p>\n The main phone number is 904-858-6200.<\/b><\/p>\n Bus route and stop information for your child is available in your Focus account<\/a>. In addition, parents can use the system to send messages directly to the SJCSD Transportation Department.<\/p>\n To get started, families should create an account on the BusPlanner website<\/b><\/a> or on the Chipmunk app<\/b><\/a> using the same email address<\/b> associated with their Home Access Center (HAC) account. SJCSD encourages all families with bus riders to register early and stay informed. These buses cover 48 routes, twice daily, driving over 3,200 miles each day.<\/p>\n For late bus information, please call 912-462-5159<\/b>.<\/p>\n Each day, the department experiences extremely high call volume between the hours of 6:30-8:30 a.m. and from 2:15-5 p.m. During these hours, it is extremely difficult to get through to the Transportation Department.
