Arsenal may be about to hand Tottenham Hotspur a huge blow as the Gunners have now taken a significant step towards landing one of Thomas Frank\u2019s top targets, Christian Norgaard.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The experienced midfielder has worked with the Danish coach at Brentford as well as Brondby and it thus comes as no surprise that Frank is trying to bring Norgaard to Tottenham<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Several sources have reported over recent weeks that Spurs have had a long-standing interest in Norgaard<\/a> and are now trying to use their new head coach\u2019s influence to finally get their hands on the 31-year-old.<\/p>\n

However, it emerged a couple of days ago that Tottenham may face competition from Arsenal for Norgaard\u2019s services<\/a>, with the report claiming that the Gunners are eyeing the Denmark international as a potential replacement for Thomas Partey.<\/p>\n

Fabrizio Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that Arsenal have become the first club to launch an offer for the Brentford captain this summer.<\/p>\n

Mikel Arteta\u2019s men have reportedly proposed a \u20ac11m (\u00a39.3m) offer for Norgaard, who has two years left on his contract at the Gtech Community Stadium.<\/p>\n

Romano adds that the two clubs are currently locked in negotiations, with the midfielder keen on making a switch to the Emirates Stadium.<\/p>\n

Will Tottenham respond with an offer for Norgaard?<\/p>\n

It has been reported that Tottenham are keen on signing a defensive midfielder this summer<\/a>, particularly given that Yves Bissouma\u2019s future at the club is in doubt.<\/p>\n

While Spurs<\/a> seem to hold an interest in Norgaard, it does not appear as if a number six is the club\u2019s top priority right now.<\/p>\n

It has been claimed that Thomas Frank\u2019s main focus is on strengthening Tottenham\u2019s attack<\/a> at the moment. It will thus be interesting to see if the Lilywhites get involved in the race for the Bees captain or if they decide they have bigger fish to fry.<\/p>\n
