\n\tThe 2025 New York Film Festival<\/a> has added the premiere of Scott Cooper<\/a>\u2018s Bruce Springsteen<\/a> biopic, Deliver Me From Nowhere<\/a>, starring Jeremy Allen White<\/a> as the iconic musician, as its Spotlight Gala selection.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film, adapted from Warren Zanes\u2019 2023 best-selling book of the same name, is set in the early \u201980s at a key time in Springsteen\u2019s career as he was recording the personal, acoustic songs that would make up his Nebraska album while also working on demos for Born in the U.S.A. and navigating his growing fame. Cooper directs from his own script. In addition to White, Deliver Me From Nowhere stars Jeremy Strong<\/a> as Springsteen\u2019s longtime manager Jon Landau as well as Marc Maron<\/a>, Stephen Graham<\/a>, Gaby Hoffman, Paul Walter Hauser<\/a>, David Krumholtz<\/a> and Odessa Young. Cooper, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Eric Robinson and Scott Stuber<\/a> produce, with Tracey London and Zanes executive producing. 20th Century Studios is set to release Deliver Me From Nowhere in theaters Oct. 24.<\/p>\n

\n\tSpringsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere will have its New York Film Festival premiere Sunday, Sept. 28, with Cooper, White, Strong, Young and Springsteen, himself, all expected to be in attendance.<\/p>\n

\n\tNYFF artistic director Dennis Lim added, \u201cTaking its cue from the stark majesty of Bruce Springsteen\u2019s classic album Nebraska, Scott Cooper\u2019s Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere has an intimacy and immediacy that eludes most film biographies. Anchored by Jeremy Allen White\u2019s revelatory performance, this year\u2019s Spotlight Gala selection is a fitting tribute to a living legend.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe NYFF previously announced its currents lineup<\/a> and main slate<\/a>, including its opening-night film, Luca Guadagnino\u2019s Julia Roberts starrer After the Hunt<\/a>, which also features Ayo Edebiri and Andrew Garfield; centerpiece film Jim Jarmusch\u2019s Father Mother Sister Brother<\/a>; and closing night film Bradley Cooper\u2019s Is This Thing On?<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\tAdditional highlights from the 34-film main slate include Jafar Panahi\u2019s Cannes\u2019 Palme d\u2019Or winner<\/a> It Was Just an Accident<\/a>, Kathryn Bigelow\u2018s A House of Dynamite, Noah Baumbach\u2018s George Clooney and Adam Sandler starrer Jay Kelly, Kelly Reichardt\u2018s The Mastermind<\/a>, the Laura Poitras- and Mark Obenhaus-directed Seymour Hersh documentary Cover-Up, and Mary Bronstein\u2019s Rose Byrne and Conan O\u2019Brien starrer If I Had Legs I\u2019d Kick You<\/a>.<\/p>\n
