He explained how he builds confidence following his victory over Daniel Galan.

Sinner takes his confidence from his preparation rather than tournaments or matches

Speaking to reporters after a 6-1 6-1 victory over Daniel Galan, Sinner was asked about how he manages to maintain his form between surfaces after taking a break between Wimbledon and the Cincinnati Open.

Sinner said: “I don’t know because I feel like… also when I haven’t won one Grand Slam, that year I came to Australia without playing any tournaments before.

“And I’m one kind of person who takes the confidence out of the practice sessions, and when I feel ready physically, when I feel ready mentally, when I feel that the shots are in the right spots that’s, you know, I’m just ready to play. I feel confident and that’s exactly what we did also after London.

“I took my time off but then when I came back I was working very very hard. We had very very long days at the tennis club with the physical training, tennis and physio and everything, there was so long days.

“You know, you wake up early and you go to sleep actually quite late and I take my confidence from there, not from tournaments played or matches played.

“Of course, if I would lose first round first round second round then I would change. I would play… or at couple of tournaments.

“But at the moment everything is going in the right direction in the terms of preparation for the matches.”

Jannik Sinner’s impressive record against top 20 players

In what seems to be a daily event, Jannik Sinner made more history by defeating Daniel Galan.

As per OptaAce, Jannik Sinner has won 73 matches and lost just two since winning his maiden Masters 1000 title at the 2023 Canadian Open.

His only two losses have come against Dusan Lajovic at the 2023 Cincinnati Open and Alexander Bublik at the 2025 Halle Open.

The Italian will face 30th seed Gabriel Diallo in the third round, who forced Taylor Fritz to play ‘near-perfect’ in their Wimbledon second-round clash.

Jannik Sinner’s 2025 campaign has been a cacophony of peaks and troughs after contrasting fortunes at the Grand…

[48
4412,67759,1824,62,1464,67,132,68
0":"post-137109","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-tennis","8":"tag-atp-tennis-players","9":"tag-cincinnati-open","10":"tag-jannik-sinner","11":"tag-sports","12":"tag-tennis","13":"tag-united-states","14":"tag-unitedstates","15":"tag-us
["GET
