John Leguizamo<\/a> is slamming Dean Cain<\/a> for the actor’s decision to become an agent<\/a> for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).\n<\/p>\n In a video posted<\/a> to Instagram on Friday, Aug. 8, the Leguizamo Does America<\/a> host reacted to Cain’s recent announcement that he would be sworn in as an ICE agent.\n<\/p>\n “What kinda loser volunteers to be an ICE officer? What a moron,” said Leguizamo, 65. “Dean Cain, your pronouns are has\/been.”\n<\/p>\n In response to a story about Leguizamo’s comments, the Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman<\/a>\u00a0alum, 59, wrote on X<\/a>, “He\u2019s a good actor \u2014 I like his stuff.”\n<\/p>\n Reps for Cain did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for further comment on Monday, Aug. 11.\n<\/p>\n Never miss a story \u2014 sign up for\u00a0PEOPLE’s free daily newsletter<\/a>\u00a0to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer\u200b\u200b, from celebrity news to compelling human-interest stories.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n Cain revealed on\u00a0Jesse Watters Primetime<\/a>\u00a0last week that he planned to join ICE following the Trump administration\u2019s recent push for Americans to join the agency amid an immigration crackdown.\n<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m actually a sworn deputy sheriff and a\u00a0reserve police officer<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 I wasn\u2019t part of ICE, but once I put that out there and you put a little blurb on your show, it went crazy,\u201d Cain\u00a0said on the show<\/a>. \u201cSo now I\u2019ve spoken with some officials over at ICE, and I will be sworn in as an ICE agent, ASAP.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m stepping up,\u201d he added. \u201cHopefully, a whole bunch of other former officers, former ICE agents, will step up and we\u2019ll meet those recruitment goals immediately, and we\u2019ll help protect this country.\u201d<\/p>\n Cain also noted during his interview on Wednesday, Aug. 6. that he was ready and willing to do whatever ICE director Todd Lyons \u201cwants me to do\u201d and that he would be on the front lines \u201cin a heartbeat,\u201d though he doubted that he would be put \u201cin that position.\u201d\n<\/p>\n Earlier in the day, the actor shared his plans to join in an\u00a0Instagram video<\/a>\u00a0and encouraged others to do the same, saying “it was important to join first responders” to “help secure the safety of all Americans.”<\/p>\n Dean Cain in Hollywood, California, on Dec. 1, 2024; Donald Trump in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 13, 2025.<\/p>\n Victoria Sirakova\/Getty; Chris Brunskill\/Fantasista\/Getty\u00a0<\/p>\n Leguizamo, meanwhile, has long been an activist for human rights, and often posts and speaks out about Latinx representation<\/a> in media and elsewhere.\n<\/p>\n While chatting with PEOPLE recently amid the recently released second season of his MSNBC docuseries Leguizamo Does America, the actor and comedian said of Latinx people, “We’re living this parallel shadow life in America, where we’ve been here since 1492 and before.”\n<\/p>\n “And the first European language spoken here was not English \u2014 it was Spanish, in America,” continued Leguizamo, who has Colombian heritage and Puerto Rican ties<\/a>.<\/p>\n And despite the Latinx influence embedded all across the U.S., Leguizamo said, “We face so much trials and tribulations in this country, [including] right now, when I see all the assaults on Latin bodies<\/a> and moms and children.”\n<\/p>\n “And I go, ‘The reason I did the show was to celebrate our Latin joy, our Latin abilities,’ and I found it in every show,” he added. “I found so much hope, and I hope that I can pass that on to all the viewers.”\n<\/p>\n
