The first of Death Cab for Cutie<\/strong>\u2018s three NYC Plans 20th anniversary shows<\/a> fell on the date of the band\u2019s first-ever NYC show, 26 years ago at Mercury Lounge. \u201cNever in my wildest imaginations, I\u2019m sure anybody\u2019s imaginations up here, did we ever think that so many years later, all of you\u2019d be here in this beautiful room,\u201d Ben Gibbard told the Brooklyn Paramount crowd on Friday night (8\/8), before launching into Something About Airplanes track \u201cYour Bruise.\u201d<\/p>\n

These NYC shows are at the end of their short tour<\/a> celebrating two decades of their monumental major label debut, and between the first and second nights, they headed to NJ to open for My Chemical Romance at MetLife Stadium<\/a>. Some of that night\u2019s setlist formed the backbone of the second part of Death Cab\u2019s Friday and Sunday night shows at the considerably more intimate Brooklyn Paramount, and after playing Plans in full on both nights, they also worked in a few more older cuts: Friday night got The Photo Album\u2018s \u201cA Movie Script Ending,\u201d and Sunday night got that album\u2019s \u201cWe Laugh Indoors,\u201d We Have the Facts and We\u2019re Voting Yes\u2018 \u201cTitle Track,\u201d and The Forbidden Love EP\u2018s \u201cPhotobooth.\u201d See the setlists for nights one and two below.<\/p>\n

The American Analog Set<\/strong> are opening all three Brooklyn Paramount shows, and Friday\u2019s show was their first NYC show in 20 years and their set was heavy on Know By Heart and Promise of Love.
