But now, we\u2019ve got another title to brag about: having one of the best gas station restaurants in the entire United States, that\u2019s right here in the heart of Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p>Smacking Burger was listed as No. 7 on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yelp.com\/article\/top-gas-station-restaurants-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yelp\u2019s list of top 10 gas station eateries across the country<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Smacking Burger was listed as No. 7 on Yelp\u2019s list. <\/p>\n<p> Stephen Yang<\/p>\n<p>The viral smash burger is tucked inside a Mobil station on Eighth Avenue and Horatio, right in the heart of Greenwich Village \u2014 one of the last remaining gas stations below 14th Street. <\/p>\n<p>According to Yelp, the Big Smack is the most popular menu item cooked on the flat top. <\/p>\n<p>The $10.99 \u2014 which is reasonably prices for an NYC burger \u2014 sandwich is served with two crispy-edged smashed patties, caramelized onions, American cheese, house-made Butter Crunch pickles, shredded lettuce and a \u201ctop-secret\u201d Smack Sauce \u2014 a riff on a pink burger sauce, elevated with dill \u2014 on a Martin\u2019s sesame potato roll, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/newyork\/news\/one-of-americas-best-gas-station-restaurants-resides-in-nyc-081125\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Time Out<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s also \u201cThe Truff,\u201d a single smashed patty topped with grilled mushrooms, Swiss cheese and truffle-infused mayonnaise for $9.99 and \u201cThe World Famous Fries,\u201d loaded with a smashed patty, American cheese, caramelized onions, chopped pickles, hot chimichurri and more \u201cSmack Sauce\u201d for $9.49.<\/p>\n<p>Talk about a steal!<\/p>\n<p>The viral smash burger is tucked inside a Mobil station on Eighth Avenue and Horatio, right in the heart of Greenwich Village \u2014 one of the last remaining gas stations below 14th Street. Stephen Yang<\/p>\n<p>Hondros grew up in the gas station game \u2014 he\u2019s been pumping gas since he was nine years old, following in his father\u2019s footsteps. Now he owns several stations in Brooklyn. <\/p>\n<p>He fondly recalls how fuel stops used to house unique burger joints and wanted to recreate that experience. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wanted to get that old-school feeling. There\u2019s nothing but Burger King now,\u201d Hondros <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/05\/08\/lifestyle\/nycs-best-new-hamburger-is-gas-stations-smacking-burger\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">previously told The Post. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The grill was opened by native Brooklynite Tommy Hondros and his girlfriend, Elizabeth Torres, just last year.
