One person died and four others were injured when two cars collided on a Chula Vista thoroughfare Monday evening, a police official said.<\/p>\n
The crash happened about 7:45 p.m. on Telegraph Canyon Road not far west of La Media Road, Chula Vista police Lt. Gino Grippo said.<\/p>\n
The initial investigation indicates that a Ford Mustang was headed west on Telegraph Canyon when a Subaru started to turn in front of it at the intersection of Apache Drive, he said.<\/p>\n
The two vehicles collided, and the Subaru overturned, Grippo said.<\/p>\n
One of the occupants of the Subaru died at the scene. Grippo said three other people in the Subaru, including one who sustained life-threatening injuries, were transported to hospitals. The Mustang driver, who was the sole occupant of that vehicle, was also taken to a hospital.<\/p>\n
Traffic division officers were called to the scene to investigate. A stretch of Telegraph Canyon Road was closed for the investigation.<\/p>\n
No further information was immediately available.<\/p>\n
