NEW YORK (1010 WINS) \u2014<\/strong> New York City was sizzling in yet another heat wave on Monday, with temperatures in the low-90s potentially spanning the entire workweek during what an Associated Press data analysis<\/a> showed to be the muggiest first two months of weather on record in the Eastern United States.<\/p>\n

After the high hit 90 degrees in Central Park on Sunday,\u00a0Monday afternoon will be sunny and hot with a high of 91, AccuWeather said. By night it will be mainly clear with a low of 71, and mid-60s in many suburbs.<\/p>\n

An Air Quality Alert is in place until 11 p.m. due to ozone, and the NYC Health Department warned that young children, older adults and those with heart or breathing conditions should avoid strenuous and prolonged outdoor activities.<\/p>\n

Humidity is expected to increase over the course of the week, with Tuesday becoming more humid during a hot, sunny day with a high of 92.<\/p>\n

Sun will mix with clouds on Wednesday as the heat and humidity remain and high again hits 92. A thunderstorm is expected to hit later in the day or evening, according to AccuWeather.<\/p>\n

Thursday will see the same conditions as Wednesday but with a high of 90 and the threat of a thunderstorm in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

Friday will be plenty warm and sunny with highs in the upper-80s, but not as humid.<\/p>\n

The average number of 90-degrees or above days in NYC is 15, according to\u00a0data<\/a>\u00a0from the National Weather Service. There have been 12 recorded from NYC’s Central Park weather station thus far, meaning this week\u2019s heat wave could push the record to at least the average with still five weeks of summer remaining.<\/p>\n
