\n\tEXCLUSIVE: <\/strong>After a competitive bidding battle, Amazon MGM Studios has landed the package for a live-action movie revolving around the Bratz<\/a> doll line with Kim Kardashian<\/a> and Picturestart<\/a> on board to produce. Charlie Polinger and Lucy McKendrick are writing the script, and while a deal is not closed, sources say Kardashian is being eyed to play the villain in the project.<\/p>\n

\n\tErik Feig and Julia Hammer will produce for Picturestart with Kardashian, and Jason and Jasmin Larian producing for MGA. MGA\u2019s Isaac Larian will executive produce.<\/p>\n

\n\tGiven all the parties involved, along with the global popularity of the toy line, the package saw plenty of interest. But given the strong ties Kardashian and the studio already have, it makes sense the project ended up at Amazon MGM. Last year, the studio won an auction<\/a> for an untitled thriller with Kardashian attached to star.<\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing the success of the Barbie movie in 2023, studios have been on the lookout for iconic toys that could have a similar pop on the big screen, and Bratz falls right in line as something that could play well at a global level. The Bratz toy line has sold more than 200 million dolls to date globally and has the highest social media engagement across all platforms of any toy brand in the world.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs for the film, plot details are unknown at this time.<\/p>\n

\n\tKardashian has been on a roll as of late both on the producing and acting fronts. She is currently producing and starring the Netflix comedy The Fifth Wheel, which has Eva Longoria directing and Paula Pell penning the script. On the TV front, she is set to star in Hulu\u2019s Ryan Murphy drama series All Is Fair and is also producing and appearing in the Hulu series Group Chat. That series stars La La Anthony and shoots this fall.<\/p>\n

\n\tPolinger\u2019s directorial and writing debut\u00a0The Plague, produced by Lucy McKendrick and starring Joel Edgerton, recently premiered to praise in Cannes\u2019 Un Certain Regard. He now is set to write and direct\u00a0The Masque of the Red Death with A24 and Picturestart, which he and McKendrick will produce. McKendrick is in pre-production on\u00a0Fangs, which she wrote, is directing and will star in alongside Toni Collette and Edgerton, with Polinger producing.<\/p>\n

\n\tKardashian is repped by MGA Entertainment and WME. Polinger is represented by Anonymous Content and UTA, and McKendrick is represented by 42 and CAA.<\/p>\n

\n\tPicturestart most recently produced and co-financed Together, which will be released in theaters in August by Neon, and the 2023 Sundance Ensemble Award winner Theater Camp, which was released by Searchlight last year.
