Monday night, the man had a friend with him in the drainage ditch, who police say was ready for trouble.<\/p>\n<p>When the security guard confronted the man, police say the friend jumped in and told the guard to leave them alone and reached for what the guard believed to be a weapon.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s when the security guard shot him in the chest. The victim was taken to BAMC in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p>Police have detained the security guard and there&#8217;s no word yet on whether he&#8217;ll be facing charges.<\/p>\n<p>The shooting is under investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"This happened just after 10 p.m. near a car shop on Southwest Military Drive near Pleasanton Road.
