Months have gone by since they parted ways, but tensions haven\u2019t thawed between former guitarist\/vocalist Brent Hinds and his former Mastodon<\/a> bandmates. <\/p>\n

Not even in the slightest (in Hinds\u2019s case). In March, the metal band made an unexpected announcement <\/a>that they would be parting ways with Hinds after 25 years. Details as to what led up to the split have been scarce, but guitarist Bill Kelliher<\/a> gave a brief statement to Guitar World<\/a> as to what happened from his perspective. \u201cLike a marriage, sometimes people grow apart, and they get interested in other things,\u201d Kelliher stated. \u201cWe wish nothing but the best for Brent in chasing his dreams.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since then, Mastodon has been playing with guitarist Nick Johnston. As time has gone on, Hinds\u2019s anger towards his former bandmates has seemed to be growing. A comment Hinds left on the Mastodon subreddit <\/a>has grabbed a lot of the fandom\u2019s attention. The guitarist responded in a long comment in response to a 2012 live video of his performance of a guitar solo for the song \u201cCrack The Skye. \u201c<\/p>\n

\u201cMy Guitar sounds great, but Troy [Sanders] and prawn [a name for drummer [Brann Dailor] sound absolutely horrible,\u201d Hinds wrote. \u201c..they are way out of key ..embarrassing and they kicked me out of the band for embarrassing them for being who I am ..but what about who they are ?\u201d He went on to write, \u201cI\u2019ve never seen anyone in my life look in the mirror more than Troy Sanders. He thinks he\u2019s God\u2019s gift to anything. I\u2019ve never met three people that were so full of themselves. It\u2019s disgusting.\u201d<\/p>\n

These sentiments echo what Hinds said on Instagram in June, when he stated, \u201cI [won\u2019t] miss being in a s— band with horrible humans.\u201d<\/p>\n
