{"id":140014,"date":"2025-08-12T15:42:12","date_gmt":"2025-08-12T15:42:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/140014\/"},"modified":"2025-08-12T15:42:12","modified_gmt":"2025-08-12T15:42:12","slug":"fabrizio-romano-says-man-city-in-contact-to-sign-man-utd-target-player-stance-on-move","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/140014\/","title":{"rendered":"Fabrizio Romano says Man City in &#8216;contact&#8217; to sign Man Utd target, player stance on move"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>This summer has been a busy one in the transfer market for Manchester United and Jason Wilcox still has work to do.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After a 2024\/25 campaign which showcased the massive attacking deficiencies, it isn\u2019t a surprise that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/club\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Manchester United<\/a> have spent the best part of \u00a3200m adding creativity and goals to the offence.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"inline-links multi\">\n<li>Matheus Cunha \u2013 \u00a362.5m <\/li>\n<li>Bryan Mbeumo \u2013 \u00a365m <\/li>\n<li>Benjamin Sesko \u2013 \u00a366m<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To spend so much on the attack could be seen as ill-advised, considering there are other problems with this team, including the midfield.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/transfer-news\/david-ornstein-says-man-utd-have-same-ace-trick-in-carlos-baleba-race-as-they-did-with-bryan-mbeumo\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">United are attempting to sign Carlos Baleba<\/a> with Brighton\u2019s massive \u00a3112m asking price clearly being mulled over as the Red Devils are yet to back away, which suggests there is optimism a deal can be reached.<\/p>\n<p>However, even bolstering the midfield wouldn\u2019t be the conclusion for United\u2019s transfer plans this summer, as a goalkeeper is also on the agenda.<\/p>\n<p>Several options have been considered with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/tag\/andre-onana\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Andre Onana<\/a> not viewed as ideal following his struggles last season.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/GettyImages-2225111886-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Gianluigi Donnarumma, side view, orange PSG jersey\" class=\"wp-image-287155\" \/>Photo by Jean Catuffe\/Getty ImagesManchester City join the race to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma<\/p>\n<p>On paper, goalkeeper shouldn\u2019t be a priority for United with Onana capable of being one of the best in the world, although he hasn\u2019t shown this at United.<\/p>\n<p>Due to this, United have been considering several goalkeepers this summer with Senne Lammens among the potential additions.<\/p>\n<p>Although, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedinfocus.com\/transfer-news\/what-manchester-united-fans-need-to-know-about-interest-in-gianluigi-donnarumma\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">United have also been linked with Gianluigi Donnarumma<\/a>, with the Italian set to leave PSG this summer after the European champions replaced him with Lucas Chevalier.<\/p>\n<p>However, now Fabrizio Romano has tweeted to reveal United are not alone in wanting to sign Donnarumma, with Man City in the race.<\/p>\n<p>The journalist tweeted to reveal that City have made contact to sign Donnarumma this summer, asking PSG the conditions of a possible deal.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8 Manchester City made contact with PSG to ask for Donnarumma deal conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Current PSG request around \u20ac50m, deemed too high + deal would only be possible if \u00c9derson leaves.<\/p>\n<p>Chelsea are NOT in the race.
