{"id":140403,"date":"2025-08-12T19:06:12","date_gmt":"2025-08-12T19:06:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/140403\/"},"modified":"2025-08-12T19:06:12","modified_gmt":"2025-08-12T19:06:12","slug":"security-guard-fatally-shoots-man-during-argument-behind-south-side-body-shop-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/140403\/","title":{"rendered":"Security guard fatally shoots man during argument behind South Side body shop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SAN ANTONIO &#8211; A late-night confrontation behind a South Side body shop ended with a man and killed Monday, after a dispute between a security guard and two men who frequent a drainage ditch behind the property, police said.<\/p>\n<p>The shooting occurred just after 10 p.m. off Southwest Military Drive near Pleasanton Road. <\/p>\n<p>Police said the 35-year-old security guard, who was hired to protect the property, had ongoing problems with one of the men. <\/p>\n<p>Investigators said the guard approached the man when a friend of the victim stepped in, telling the guard to leave him alone. The friend then reached for what the guard believed was a firearm. That&#8217;s when the security guard pulled his weapon and fired, striking the 41-year-old man in the chest.<\/p>\n<p>The victim was rushed to the hospital, but later succumbed to his injuries. <\/p>\n<p>Police detained the security guard at the scene.
