Jimmy Kimmel revealed he has his Italian passport ready, just in case.<\/p>\n
During an interview with comedian Sarah Silverman on her podcast, the \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d host discussed how \u201cmuch worse\u201d the president\u2019s second term has been for the country, without getting into specifics. He said he has obtained Italian citizenship as a result. Kimmel\u2019s Italian heritage<\/a> from his mother\u2019s side gave him the option to double up his citizenship.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat\u2019s going on [with Trump] is as bad as you thought it was gonna be,\u201d Kimmel told his ex-girlfriend<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel like it\u2019s probably even worse than [Trump] would like it to be,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Kimmel has criticized Trump pretty much nonstop on his late-night show since before the president first won the White House in 2016. <\/p>\n Trump has previously called Kimmel \u201cstupid\u201d<\/a> and recently said the ABC host would be the next to lose his job after CBS announced in July that it wasn\u2019t renewing<\/a> Stephen Colbert\u2019s contract.<\/p>\n Trump celebrated<\/a> the news that \u201cThe Late Show\u201d would end soon and predicted Kimmel would face the same fate. \u201c[Kimmel] has less talent than Colbert,\u201d the president posted on Truth Social.<\/p>\n Trump doubled down during a press conference<\/a> last week, saying anyone off the street could do a better job than Kimmel and other mainstream late-night hosts.<\/p>\n Since Trump won in 2020, comedians Rosie O\u2019Donnell<\/a> and Ellen DeGeneres<\/a> have re-settled in Ireland and England, respectively. <\/p>\n Kimmel has been on a summer hiatus from his show and will return to his hosting duties in September.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Jimmy Kimmel revealed he has his Italian passport ready, just in case.
