The Charles Addams-created property The Addams Family<\/strong> has endured after all these years, taking on many different forms throughout the decades. The latest is of course Netflix\u2019s live action series \u201cWednesday<\/strong>\u201d starring Jenna Ortega, which came along in the wake of two animated feature films that were released in theaters by United Artists in 2019 and in 2021.<\/p>\n

But the animated Addams Family saga is now getting a reboot from \u201cWednesday\u201d creators Alfred Gough<\/strong> and Miles Millar<\/strong>, the duo has revealed on Deadline\u2019s\u00a0Crew Call podcast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While the new animated movie is from the team behind \u201cWednesday,\u201d it will not be connected to the Netflix series, and also not connected to the 2019 and 2021 animated movies either.<\/p>\n

Gough and Millar reveal, \u201cWe\u2019re working on it with Amazon MGM and Kevin Miserocchi who runs the Addams Foundation \u2013 he knew Charles Addams and the keeper of the Addams flame \u2013 and with Gail Berman and John Glickman. We\u2019re rebooting the animated film franchise<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSo it won\u2019t have anything to do with the two films before it, nor is it connected with this show,\u201d Gough and Millar make crystal clear. \u201cIt will be a brand new Addams\u00a0feature.<\/strong> There\u2019s not really much we can say about it, because it\u2019s in the very early stages.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWednesday\u201d Season 2: Part 1 is now streaming on Netflix.<\/a><\/p>\n
