\n\tThe Only Murders in the Building<\/a> crew are keeping their friends close, and their murder suspects closer. In a Tuesday (Aug. 12) trailer for the show\u2019s highly anticipated fifth season, Selena Gomez<\/a>, Martin Short and Steve Martin\u2019s characters find themselves in the middle of a modern-day Godfather situation, with the trio having to get cozy with members of the New York City mafia to solve their latest mysteries. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe two-and-a-half-minute teaser opens with the death of doorman Lester, who is found in an outdoor fountain pooling with his blood. After the cops rule the shocking situation an \u201caccident,\u201d the Arconia mystery solvers must \u201cgo face to face with the mob\u201d \u2014 as Martin\u2019s character puts it \u2014 to find clarity. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThis isn\u2019t the mob, this is the new mob of New York\u201d says a distressed Short after meeting a group of gangster brothers in the trailer.<\/p>\n

\n\tElsewhere in the video, the gang crashes Lester\u2019s funeral to get answers \u2014 and at one point, Martin unceremoniously checks the doorman\u2019s casket to see if the body still has all 10 fingers. As mourners start yelling at him for defiling the corpse, the Rare Beauty founder says hilariously, \u201cWe\u2019re all going to Hell.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe new trailer comes about two months after Gomez revealed that she and her fellow cast and crew had wrapped filming<\/a> for the fifth season of Only Murders. Sharing an emotional video of her last day on set, the star wrote on Instagram, \u201cTo my only murders family, the past 5 years you all have seen my best and my worst.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI hope [you\u2019re] reading this because I deeply appreciate each and every one of you,\u201d she added at the time. \u201cWords can\u2019t describe how much I love what we\u2019ve all created and we wouldn\u2019t be here without you all!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to the core trio behind Only Murders, Meryl Streep will also return for the fifth season, which will premiere on Hulu on Sept. 9. The new installment also stars Ren\u00e9e Zellweger, Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz, Keegan-Michael Key, Beanie Feldstein and more fresh faces.<\/p>\n
