(File photo courtesy of CBP)<\/p>\n<p>San Diego <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. Customs and Border Protection<\/a> officers seized more than 9,800 pounds of narcotics in July, disrupting transnational drug networks and removing an estimated $32 million worth of drugs from the streets. <\/p>\n<p>The seizures, including 6,677 pounds of methamphetamine, 2,852 pounds of cocaine, 326 pounds of fentanyl and 27 pounds of heroin, were made in 132 incidents.<\/p>\n<p>One of the largest occurred July 28 at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/about\/contact\/ports\/san-ysidro-class-california-2504\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">San Ysidro Port of Entry<\/a>, where officers inspecting a commercial bus found 487 pounds of cocaine hidden inside a non-factory gas tank compartment. The discovery was aided by a canine team following a computer-generated alert. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur success relies heavily on precision targeting,\u201d said Sidney K.
