{"id":141881,"date":"2025-08-13T08:12:13","date_gmt":"2025-08-13T08:12:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/141881\/"},"modified":"2025-08-13T08:12:13","modified_gmt":"2025-08-13T08:12:13","slug":"diamond-in-the-rough-nyc-nonprofit-looking-to-return-lost-class-ring-after-bronx-trash-cleanup-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/141881\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Diamond in the rough.&#8217; NYC nonprofit looking to return lost class ring after Bronx trash cleanup event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the proverb goes &#8211; &#8220;one person\u2019s trash is another person\u2019s treasure.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And one nonprofit is trying to return someone\u2019s treasure that they found in the trash.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It is small, silver, with two hearts and a pink stone.<\/p>\n<p>If that description rings a bell \u2013 then it might be your ring. <\/p>\n<p>Volunteers with the nonprofit Sanitation Foundation said they came across the lost ring during one of its cleanup events on Aug. 2 in Mott Haven.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It was found in the weeds along the curb on Alexander and Third avenues, across the street from the Mott Haven Houses.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The ring is engraved with Bronx Collegiate Academy Class of 2024 and has two initials inside. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve definitely found treasures and trash,\u201d said Johari James, manager of community engagement for the Sanitation Foundation. \u201cWe\u2019ve found some jewelry, maybe a necklace here, but nothing that has the actual initials on it and has some sort of description that we can trace it back to the owner. Hopefully, this is a wonderful story for somebody.
