{"id":142127,"date":"2025-08-13T10:21:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-13T10:21:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/142127\/"},"modified":"2025-08-13T10:21:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-13T10:21:10","slug":"jso-issues-warning-about-spike-in-deadly-motorcycle-crashes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/142127\/","title":{"rendered":"JSO issues warning about spike in deadly motorcycle crashes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>JACKSONVILLE, Fla.<\/strong> \u2013 The Jacksonville Sheriff\u2019s Office issued a warning Tuesday for drivers because of a spike in deadly motorcycle crashes in 2025.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Hours later, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.news4jax.com\/traffic\/2025\/08\/13\/rider-thrown-from-motorcycle-in-crash-on-9b-dies-fhp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.news4jax.com\/traffic\/2025\/08\/13\/rider-thrown-from-motorcycle-in-crash-on-9b-dies-fhp\/\">another rider was killed on a Jacksonville highway<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Tuesday morning, JSO posted on social media, saying this time last year, 16 motorcycle fatalities had been reported in Duval County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">So far this year, there have been 25, including one Tuesday night on State Road 9B at I-95.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">\u201cEven one life lost is too many,\u201d JSO wrote.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud835\udfd0\ud835\udfd2. So far this year, 24 people have died in motorcycle crashes. That\u2019s a staggering increase compared to the 16 motorcycle fatalities this time last year. Even one life lost is too many.  <\/p>\n<p>\ud835\udc11\ud835\udc22\ud835\udc1d\ud835\udc1e\ud835\udc2b\ud835\udc2c: Wear the right gear, slow down, watch the road surface, brake smoothly,\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/kEhGLPhNCv\">pic.twitter.com\/kEhGLPhNCv<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Jax Sheriff&#8217;s Office (@JSOPIO) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JSOPIO\/status\/1955275123008704832?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">August 12, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">JSO encouraged both riders and drivers to be careful on the roadways.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">The Sheriff\u2019s Office reminded riders to wear the right gear, slow down, watch the road surface and brake smoothly.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">JSO also encouraged riders to take one of the free motorcycle safety classes offered by the department.
