1.\u00a0Desperate parents pleaded with officers to act during Uvalde school shooting, video shows<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

Desperate\u00a0parents begged\u00a0law enforcement officers to storm an elementary school in\u00a0Uvalde, Texas,\u00a0in the frantic minutes after a gunman opened fire in one of the deadliest classroom attacks in U.S. history, police body camera video released Tuesday shows.<\/p>\n

The heartbreaking videos show the\u00a0agonizingly slow law enforcement\u00a0response along with confusion and delays.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Texas Senate considers bill letting lawsuits target out-of-state abortion pill shipments into Texas<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

State Sen. Bryan Hughes,\u00a0R-Mineola, filed the bill to allow private citizens to file lawsuits against abortion manufacturers and target shield laws in other states that protect manufacturers and doctors who prescribe the pills.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The pills, such as mifepristone and misoprostol, can be safely prescribed to women\u00a0for inserting an intrauterine device, managing a miscarriage and other medical treatments,\u00a0which Hughes says his bill accounts for.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0Advocates worry drug overdoses will rise due to federal cuts<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n

Fewer Texans are overdosing on drugs, but experts worry that trend may turn back due to major federal cuts.\u00a0The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported a nearly\u00a027% decrease\u00a0in American overdose deaths from 2023 to 2024. Advocates say more resources and access to naloxone, also known by the brand name Narcan, play a major role.<\/p>\n
