Highland Ave. in Hollywood"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A City-owned property north of <a href=\"https:\/\/la.urbanize.city\/neighborhood\/hollywood\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hollywood<\/a>\u00a0and Highland is set to be converted into a facility providing housing and services to mothers, according to an item now being considered by the City Council.<\/p>\n<p>Under a motion introduced recently by 4th District Councilmember Nithya Raman, Aviva Family and Children Services is poised to operate the proposed community at 1901-1905 N. Highland Avenue, which would consist of a series of modular structures providing round-the-clock care and supportive services to pregnant women, postpartum mothers, women with dependent children, and substance-exposed women.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"image-and-caption\">\n<a class=\"fancybox\" href=\"https:\/\/la.urbanize.city\/sites\/default\/files\/styles\/1140w\/public\/2025-08\/1901%20n%20highland%20ave%20map.jpg?itok=b-U_ceVn\" rel=\"article-image-set nofollow noopener\" title=\"Google Maps\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"image-950w article-inline-image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1901 n highland ave map.jpg\" width=\"950\"\/><\/a><br \/>\n1901 N. Highland AvenueGoogle Maps<\/p>\n<p>According to the motion, the currently-vacant property will house a total of 27 women, including four &#8220;family units,&#8221; for those living with children.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/la.urbanize.city\/post\/city-owned-sites-hollywood-and-mid-wilshire-considered-affordable-housing\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Raman previously looked to initiate a request for proposals process to pursue redevelopment of the Highland Avenue site <\/a>with permanent supportive housing. However, after determining that proximity to the Hollywood fault line made the site unsuitable for such a project, plans to grant the property to a developer were abandoned.
