Wei was born in China, and had been assigned to the San Diego based warship USS Essex several years ago. <\/p>\n<p>The U\/T reports officers arrested Wei two years ago when he showed up to work at Naval Base San Diego.<\/p>\n<p>Wei moved with his mother from China to Wisconsin in 2016. He joined the Navy five years later and reported to the Essex in 2022..<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors say a Chinese spy recruited and corrupted Wei.
