Then visit some of the city of Glendale\u2019s libraries for the FREE Writer in Residence Fall Session, which runs through October.\n<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-149240\" class=\"wp-image-149240 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/pexels-fotios-photos-851213-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Glendale Library Writer in Residence 2025 Program\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-149240\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Pexels Photo)<\/p>\n<p>Two distinguished local poets, Rosemarie Dombrowski and Shawnte Orion will aim to inspire budding or experienced writers in a series of workshops and one-on-one coaching and feedback sessions.\n<\/p>\n<p>Orion will hold one-on-one writing consultations through October, starting at 10 a.m. at Foothills Library at 19055 N. 57th Ave. Registration is required.\n<\/p>\n<p>Dombrowski will share insight during the Writer in Residence Workshop: Poetic Medicine: Writing for Wellness from 3:30-4:45 p.m. on Aug. 23 at Foothills Library. This workshop will highlight the ways in which the reading and writing of poetry (aka Poetic Medicine) can improve mental and physical health.\n<\/p>\n<p>Dombrowski will guide participants through studies about the effectiveness of poetic medicine as a means to combat stress, aging, and illness, as well as brief poetic readings, discussions, and writing exercises. Dombrowski also will hold many one-on-one consultations through October, starting at 10 a.m. on Aug. 13 at the Foothills Library. Registration is required.\n<\/p>\n<p>For all the times and locations of the workshops and one-on-one consultations, visit<a href=\"https:\/\/glendaleaz.librarycalendar.com\/events\/month\/2025\/08?keywords=writer+in+residence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> Month Calendar | Glendale Library.<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<p>Glendale\u2019s Writer in Residence program has been offered for many years but this is the first time poets will be teaching the workshops and providing the one-on-one consultations, said Lauren Kalt, a Foothills Library librarian.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese popular events attract adults young and old, and all genres and experience levels are welcome!\u201d Kalt said. \u201cSometimes they bring manuscripts for feedback, ask how to get published and reap the benefits of coaching for their writing projects. It\u2019s a fun, safe and non-judgmental space to explore any type of writing.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p>Dombrowski is the inaugural Poet Laureate of Phoenix, as well as the founding editor of rinky dink press and the founding director of Revisionary Arts, a non-profit organization that facilitates healing and self-care through poetry.
