The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe weather warning for damaging winds on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n
\u201cDamaging wind gusts are possible around a cold front moving over the South West and Lower West this evening,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n
Key areas of the State which are within the weather warning area are Mandurah, Bunbury, Margaret River and Windy Harbour.<\/p>\n
The weather conditions in the affected areas are expected to bring gusty showers and moderate rainfall. Isolated thunderstorms are also possible in the far southwest.<\/p>\n

The front was on track to reach the Southwest Capes around sunset and move quickly along the west coast, reaching Perth by mid-evening then weakening as it extends further north and over inland areas before midnight.<\/p>\n
Strong west to northwesterly winds averaging 50 to 60 km\/h with damaging forces of up to 100 km\/h are possible for a brief period around the cold front as it moves along the west coast and adjacent inland areas.<\/p>\n
Winds are likely to ease quickly once the leading edge of the cold front has passed.<\/p>\n
Locations which may be affected include Bunbury, Busselton, Mandurah, Margaret River, Perth and Augusta.<\/p>\n
