Night Court returns with lawyers scrubbing in for charity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\"><strong>Houston<\/strong> \u2013 For more than 30 years, <a href=\"https:\/\/nightcourt.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/nightcourt.org\">Night Court<\/a> has proven that Houston\u2019s lawyers and judges are just as talented with a punchline as they are in their careers. <\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">This all-lawyer musical theater troupe has raised more than $1.6 million for local charities that provide free legal services to Houstonians in need. This year\u2019s production, Law\u2019s Anatomy, scrubs in at the Hobby Center from August 20\u201323. The show takes audiences inside a fictional Houston hospital, where lawyers join doctors on their rounds \u201cfor transparency\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Event organizers like Tara Taheri and Yoka Larasati are encouraging the public to come out as the play is not only for lawyers, doctors, or actors. Expect music from the Bee Gees to Chappell Roan, sharp satire on law and medicine, and even 2.5 hours of ethics CLE (Continuing Legal Education) credit for attorneys.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Proceeds from Law\u2019s Anatomy will benefit seven Houston-area organizations, including AVDA-TX, Child Advocates, and Houston Volunteer Lawyers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dist__Box-sc-1fnzlkn-0 dist__TextBase-sc-1fnzlkn-3 bYFsJw cuqaEv article-text\">Tickets are on sale now at <a href=\"http:\/\/nightcourt.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"http:\/\/nightcourt.org\/\">nightcourt.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>HL co-hosts Derrick Shore and Tessa Barrera are joined by Night Court cast members and attorneys Tara Taheri and Loka Larasati.
